Cross-border medicine trade back in spotlight

U.S. President Barack Obama’s $3.55-trillion (U.S.) budget included one sentence that could reopen a long simmering debate in Canada – how much access Americans should have to inexpensive medicines from Canada.

Wheelchairs can’t cross slushy streets, says advocate for disabled

A woman who works with the disabled is challenging city officials to take a ride though the slush and snow in a wheelchair.
The Calgary Scope Society’s Hilda Langendoen said trying to navigate a walker or a wheelchair through the slush is next to impossible and she’s disappointed with the city’s response.
“I am just really upset that the city told us not to phone 311 and it’s just our problem, I guess, basically,” she said.
