Peanut snack bar added to Canadian recall over salmonella

Canadians should not eat a brand of chocolate-dipped honey peanut bar, the latest salmonella-linked product that’s part of a growing recall of peanut products in the United States.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said it has expanded a voluntary recall to include another snack food made in the U.S.

Recall in U.S. salmonella outbreak expands to more than 125 products

The outbreak has been traced to the Peanut Corp. of America, which sells peanut paste and peanut butter to food companies and institutions such as nursing homes.
More than 125 products have been voluntarily recalled in the U.S. because of a salmonella outbreak linked to peanuts, federal officials in the U.S. said Wednesday.
The list of products ranged from cakes, ice cream and dog biscuits, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said.

FDA confirmed salmonella in cracker pack, company says

Health officials in the U.S. have confirmed that salmonella was found in a package of peanut butter crackers made by Kellogg Co., the company said Monday.
The company based in Battle Creek, Mich., recalled 16 products last week over potential salmonella contamination.
In a release Monday, Kellogg Canada said none of the products in the U.S. recall had been shipped to Canada. Canadians who bought recalled products while traveling in the U.S. were (more…)

Crackers recalled after peanut paste linked to salmonella outbreak

Another brand of snack food has been added to the list of products being recalled in the United States because of a potential link to a salmonella outbreak, which is blamed for at least six deaths.
The Tennessee-based company that sells Little Debbie snacks announced a recall Sunday of peanut butter crackers, one day after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration advised consumers to avoid eating a variety of cookies, cakes, ice cream and other foods (more…)

Salmonella outbreak in U.S. linked to peanut butter: health officials

A salmonella outbreak that sickened nearly 400 people in the United States has been conclusively linked to peanut butter, Minnesota health officials said Monday.
State health and agriculture officials said last week they had found salmonella bacteria in a 2.25-kilogram package of King Nut peanut butter at a nursing facility in Minnesota.

Nearly 400 sick from salmonella in U.S.

A salmonella outbreak has sickened 388 people in 42 states, health officials in the U.S. said Wednesday.
The source of the outbreak, which started in September, is unknown, said the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The states were not named, but health officials in Ohio said at least 50 people in 18 counties have fallen sick with the foodborne illness since October.
